La Liga have requested the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for consent to maintain Decembers game between Atletico Madrid and Villarreal in Miami.
Both teams have agreed to maintain the December fixture at the Miami Dolphins Hard Rock Stadium.
La Liga previously failed in an attempt to move Miami in January Barcelonas meeting.
The RFEF along with the players union (AFE) were equally outspoken in objecting to this movement on such occasion.
La Liga signed up to play with 1 match a season as part of a 15-year deal with media company Relevent in 2018.
Relevent chairman Charlie Stillitano started a case against US soccer authorities in September, after the companys plans were obstructed by the United States Soccer Federation to host games.
La Liga president Javier Tebas stated:This game would be a further push in La Ligas internationalisation strategy, which will be giving all clubs good results. We think that on this event, well have the ability to carry this out positive chance for everybody, such as they already do in different leagues such as the NFL and the NBA, out of the boundaries.
Atletico Madrid chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin added:We would be able to bring Spanish football closer to the followers and fans that live outside of our country. It would be a wonderful game, which would demonstrate the way to go in the future.
A lawsuit previously filed in a bid to force the RFEF to redefine the match between Girona and Barcelona with a civil court in Madrid.
That match also had the acceptance of Uefa, US Soccer and the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf).
